For, years I've worked as a physiotherapist supporting older adults in their own homes. Every day, I see people striving to maintain their independence, confidence, and routines in the place that matters most to them: their home.

Throughout my career, I've noticed countless handwritten notes stuck to walls, fridges, cupboards and handrails. Some were reminders to use a walking aid. Others encouraged someone to drink their water, remember their medication, or simply provided reassurance that they were safe at home. They weren't always neat or professionally designed, but they served an important purpose.

Those small notes stayed with me.

I began thinking about how simple visual prompts could be used more effectively. If the right message was placed in the right location, could it help someone remember a safer habit? Could it encourage confidence? Could it help a person maintain their independence for a little longer?

That question became the inspiration. I created Carefully Placed to provide thoughtfully designed visual aids that support everyday living for older adults. Everything I create is influenced by my experience working directly with older adults and seeing firsthand the small barriers that can affect safety, confidence and independence. My aim isn't to make homes feel clinical. Quite the opposite. I want to create products that fit naturally into people's lives while providing the gentle support they need.

At the heart of Carefully Placed is a simple belief: small things can make a big difference.

If a visual prompt prevents a fall, helps someone maintain a routine, provides reassurance, or gives a family member greater peace of mind, then it has served its purpose.
